Cinco de Mayo Block Party at El Vez

El Vez is hosting a Cinco de Mayo block party with treats for all ages! There will be $3 tacos and enchiladas of every sort — steak, chicken, cheese, short rib, lentil and zucchini, and more — not to mention innovative twists on nachos and other Mexican specialties. Then for the of-age, El Vez is offering its renowned margaritas in addition to other classic Mexican beverages like Corona and Modelo Especial. Food and drink stands will line the streets and be accompanied by live music from performers like DJ Wisam and El Vez, “The Mexican Elvis.”

Radio 104.5 kicks off the 2013 Summer Block Party Series

The Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party Series returns! As always, it’s free at The Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties. The first concert of this year’s series features bands Family of the Year, Atlas Genius and Jackson Kingsley. Get there early to snag a good standing-room spot or enjoy the shops and restaurants lining the interior and exterior of the open-air plaza.

PlazaPalooza

The 2013 PlazaPalooza will feature a number of festivities around the Catharine Thorn Fountain. This year’s event will once again offer good eats from local establishments and good drinks provided by Grace Tavern. There will also be live musical performances by talented local bands including New Pony, Tall Trees, Minas and the Clef Club Jazz Ensemble.
