Street Style

Lucy Stone | Music industry, junior

Wearing: an American Apparel shirt, H&M jacket, Cheap Monday pants, Dolce Vita shoes, Doc Martens bag and vintage sunglasses

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I like classic, very simple clothing. If I do wear anything weird or extravagant, it’s usually only a small portion. That way it’s easier to get dressed in the morning.

Q: Do you have any everyday staples in your wardrobe?

A: I wear my jewelry every day. My rings are from Peru and Barcelona, and my necklace belonged to one of my best friend’s great-grandmother.

Q: Have you been transitioning your look for the colder weather?

A: I don’t really have to transition my wardrobe with the seasons. I’m always wearing at least two sweaters.

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop?

A: The Doc Martens store in Center City and Sugarcube in Old City.

Will Lindsay

Music industry, junior

Wearing: a gray graphic T-shirt, camo jacket from an army surplus store, Levi’s jeans, Clarks desert boots and a New Era Montreal Expos snapback hat

Q: Where do you get your style inspiration?

A: I, more or less, buy what I like, but what I like is a combination of ’90s grunge skateboard-influenced style mixed with current indie hip-hop.

Q: Do you have any people you look to specifically for style inspiration?

A: I like to situate myself stylistically somewhere in between Eddie Vedder and KiD CuDi. I know that’s a stretch, but I hope that one day I can achieve that balance.

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop?

A: My favorite place in the whole wide world to shop is the Volunteers of America thrift store in Columbus, Ohio, because they have half-off Tuesdays where everything’s 50 cents. In Philly there’s a Goodwill on Aramingo Avenue that I like to go to. I also buy a lot of stuff online.

Q: Have you been transitioning your look for the colder weather?

A: I wouldn’t say transitioning as much as coming into my own with the look that I like because I prefer jeans and long sleeves, and summer doesn’t allow for that.

Sophia Abud

International Business, senior

Wearing: her mom’s vintage blouse, H&M tank top and boots from Spain

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I wear a lot of black, but other than that I just wear what I like. I don’t really have a specific look.

Q: Where do you get your style inspiration?

A: I look at people on the street for inspiration, like when I was in Spain or when I visit New York. I like mixing relaxed, bohemian styles mixed with something more clean cut.

Q: Do you usually base your outfit around a specific piece?

A: A lot of the times I wear a long tank top that kind of acts as a dress, and then I throw something over it with tights and a pair of boots.

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop?

A: I really like H&M because they’re cheap and they have a good selection. I also like Urban Outfitters and even the Gap because I like their fabrics.
