Beer Garden at The Porch at 30th Street Station

With magnificent views of the Schuylkill River, bridges and the Center City skyline, and bounded by two monumental historic buildings, The Porch is a place of activity, respite and social interaction at a location where there has long been a dire need for pedestrian amenities. In addition, it is a vibrant and welcoming gateway for travelers emerging from 30th Street Station, whether visiting Philadelphia for the first time or commuting daily. During The Porch’s first season, the University City District provided circus performances, yoga and kickboxing classes, and French swing accordion music free to the public. The Porch is also home to a popular seasonal farmers market. This promises to be a dynamic space, so please stay tuned to see what new and exciting activities UCD will be bringing to The Porch.

Radio station B101 will host the screenings with themed games and prizes. WBEB 101.1 FM (B101) is an adult contemporary station broadcasting in the Philadelphia market. Founded in 1963, B101 is credited with many industry firsts and has enjoyed consistent top-10 ratings for decades. The station is owned and operated by Jerry Lee. Bastille Day Cabaret

Bastille Day is one of Philadelphia’s most popular summertime events. Eastern State Penitentiary teams with The Bearded Ladies cabaret group to present one of Philadelphia’s largest free theatrical performances, which culminates with a playful re-enactment of the Storming of the Bastille, influenced more by Monty Python than the actual French Revolution.

Following the performance, the many wonderful restaurants surrounding the penitentiary will come alive with French-themed entertainment as well as food and drink specials. Come early and take a tour of Eastern State (standard admission), or stay late and take a twilight tour following the re-enactment ($10 for adults, $5 for students, seniors and children).
