YouTube star Lilly Singh a.k.a. Superwoman releases feature film

Actors and singers have been in the media limelight for several years now; however, change is upon us. The Internet has taken over the world, from cat videos to dabbing. YouTube has allowed artists to create a community for themselves online. One such creative creator is Lilly Singh, also known as Superwoman (styled IISuperwomanII). She is a successful YouTube star who has gained a following of nearly 8 million subscribers on YouTube. She posts new videos every Monday and Thursday on her main channel (IISuperwomanII).She also has video blogs on her “vlog” channel (SuperwomanVlogs), where she takes her audience through her everyday life. She has also collaborated with celebrities such as James Franco, Seth Rogen, Shay Mitchell, Madhuri Dixit, Selena Gomez and many more YouTube stars and celebrities. Lilly recently announced that she will be playing a small part in the movie “Bad Mom” alongside Mila Kunis and Christina Applegate.

She released her first ever feature film at the Chinese Theater Feb. 10. The movie is called “A Trip to Unicorn Island,” in which she takes her fan base, Team Super, to what she considers to be her happy place. Unicorn Island symbolizes a place where there is no sadness, no negativity, and it’s filled with happiness. Lilly says, “Unicorn Island is wherever you want it to be, whenever you want it there. It’s a place where it’s okay to be silly, dance in public, laugh out loud and hug strangers. It’s where our imaginations go to play and for that reason, anything is possible on the Island. Hate, ignorance and negativity don’t exist here. I mean, with the cotton candy bushes, Skittles waterfall and mushroom iPod speakers, there’s just no room for anything crummy. This film will take you through a roller coaster of emotions and make you feel inspired to find your own Unicorn Island. Her message throughout the movie is to assure people that they are not alone, happiness is all around them, and all they have to do is make that effort to work hard and believe in themselves to make all their dreams a reality. Anyone who is looking for motivation and inspiration in life should watch this documentary about Lilly Singh’s world tour. The documentary is available on YouTube Red for members to stream.
