Junior receives study abroad scholarship for Japan
Jennilee Finn, a junior majoring in international area studies, was presented with a Bridging Scholarship for Study Abroad in Japan for the upcoming fall and winter terms. Finn will spend both terms in the Council on International Education Exchange's program in Tokyo where she will take courses in the Japanese language and culture. Free UCD Outdoor Concert held at Urban and Bye
The University City District will host an outdoor concert on the parking lot of Urban and Bye located at 36th and Lancaster July 8 in connection with their program, 2nd Fridays. Fulbright scholarship information available for seniors
Seniors interested in research or pursuing graduate work overseas are encouraged to apply for a scholarship for the 2005-06 Fulbright season. Three University students have won this esteemed scholarship in the last two years. This week's newsletter shows how to develop a Fulbright project, how to submit a strong essay and the stories of current fulbright recipients exploring topics as varied as filmmaking in Mexico and Russian dancing. CAB hosts free summer movie screenings
Crash, The Interpreter, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and A Lot Like Love will be shown by the Campus Activity Board as part of their free screenings July 13 & 27 and August 10 & 24 at 9 p.m. on the lawn in front of Kelly Hall. The rain locations for the screenings will take place in Stein Auditorium which is located in Nesbitt Hall. For more information contact CAB at cab@drexel.edu or visit www.drexel.edu/cab.
World Cafe Live releases summer hours
World Cafe Live, located at 31st and Walnut streets, will be open during July and August with the Upstairs Live Cafe open at 5 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The Downstairs Live Cafe will open at 6 p.m. only for listed shows. The cafe will be closed July 17, 24 & 31, and August 7 and 14. Drexel faculty and students with valid ID will get a 15 percent discount on lunch or dinner bills. The offer lasts through Aug 31. Hagerty showcases painting, drawing and printmark
A selection of paintings, drawings and prints created by Visual Studies students is on display at the W.W. Hagerty Library now through September 2005. The works were completed in the spring term and show a cross section of the fine arts course offerings. The Visual Arts Gallery is located on the library's lower level.
