Greek Life can be a rewarding experience

Jennifer Izzo

Issue date: 9/20/07 Section: Ed-Op
Remember that Greek membership is more than just parties. At Drexel, fraternities and sororities dedicate a lot of time to community service activities and making the campus a better place. During the 2007 Greek Week alone, the fraternities and sororities at Drexel contributed 142 pints of blood to the American Red Cross, 4,899 pounds of clothing to the Salvation Army, 1,860 pounds of canned food to the Peoples Emergency Center and 303.25 pounds of can tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. Greeks at Drexel also host many programming events, such as last year's PHC-sponsored presentation, "A Girl, a Boy, a Virus, and the Relationship that Happened Anyway."

Still unsure if Drexel Greek life is for you? IFC, MGC and PHC are inviting all students to "A Night Out on the Row." Come by 34th Street and Powelton Avenue Sept. 20 from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. to meet the Greeks and get a taste of Philly. Each house will be serving signature Philly food, so be sure to bring your appetite.

I totally agree with J to the Izzo. In her stats she did mis the 12,000 gallons of booze consumed last year!
