Even though seniors Bruce Bickford, Andrew Chapman and Steve Grossi of the men's lacrosse team lost in the CAA Championship to Hofstra and fell just short of the NCAA Tournament, they refuse to let their final college lacrosse season officially end just yet.

Bickford, Chapman and Grossi were selected to partake in the 67th annual USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game May 23 at Harvard Stadium.

Bickford, the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, guided the Dragons to 24 wins his last two seasons, the most over a two-year span for any goalie in Drexel history.

He expressed his enthusiasm for being selected to the all-star game and felt it was good opportunity for Drexel to receive more coverage.

"I'm really excited that I was invited," Bickford said. "It's great for Drexel too because Drexel lacrosse is a program that's growing. If some people didn't get to see Drexel play during the year, then they will finally get to see us play."

Bickford placed in the top 10 in the nation in both major goaltending categories. He was fifth in the nation in save percentage (.629) and ninth in goals against average (6.99), while leading the conference in those categories.

"It's [also] great for me because it's near my hometown," Bickford, a native of Providence, R.I., said.

On the offensive side, Chapman had a stellar season, scoring 81 goals and recording 94 points in just two seasons. He was a First-Team All-CAA pick in both of his seasons with Drexel.

"It's an honor because you're playing with some of the great players of the game," Chapman said. "I need to just play well and do my best - maybe score a goal or two."

Grossi, a two-time captain and long-stick midfielder, was a First-Team All-CAA selection as a junior and a senior. He was also a preseason Third-Team All-America selection by Inside Lacrosse.

The men's lacrosse team finished its season 13-4 (5-1 CAA), giving the Dragons the most wins in school history.

This season, the Dragons played in their first ever CAA Championship finals, but lost to Hofstra 10-9 in overtime.
