With this being Coppin State's first match of the season, Drexel's men's side is hoping that their opponents' rustiness will work in the Dragons' favor as they look to assert their dominance at the Armory - Drexel is 2-0 at home with wins over Rider (7-0) and St. Francis (7-0) in the last calendar year - and halt a disappointing run of results.

Across the way in the women's camp, things seem to be even grimmer as the Dragons (2-5) go into their Feb. 26 match against Delaware State (4-0) on the back of a five-match losing streak that includes a 7-0 whitewash by the University of Pennsylvania, a pair of 2-5 losses to George Washington and Navy and two 6-1 drubbings by Temple and most recently by DePaul.

As with the men's side, there are some good individual wins for the women - freshman Alex Bell won a singles match against DePaul; junior Sonja Stoswic (4-4, 2009-10) also took a singles match against Temple in addition to a singles victory against Navy; junior Elise Leizerovich (12-7, 2009-10) won a singles match against George Washington along with her doubles victory with Emma Brook against Navy; and freshman Zeynep Mafa also won a singles match against Navy - but they have yet to be turned into a morale boosting overall team victory.

After facing off with the DSU Hornets Feb. 26, the women's team will then go up against Coppin State Feb. 27. The Eagles (2-8 in 2009-10) come into the match against Drexel having not yet played this season, and of the two matches for this weekend, offer perhaps the path of least resistance towards the Dragons in recording their first win of the new season.

With the jury still out as far as where the program currently is in terms of its overall development, this weekend provides another opportunity for Udicious's charges to get a point in the win column and generate some much needed positive momentum.
