The end of the half proved to be an indication of how the rest of the game would play out. Manos held off Albany for 26 minutes straight, during which the entire third quarter passed. Manos even showed his agility in the net by blocking one of Albany's shots with his foot.

With the Great Danes completely shut down in the third, Drexel's offense attacked the net.

"Transitions are one of the biggest parts of our game, and when we are able to get the ball up and out quickly into our offensive zone, it makes it that much better for us," Manos said. "It puts us in a much better spot to get a win."

With their intensity on offense, the Dragons brought the score to 11-5, with goals from Franklin, Ben McIntosh and Robert Church.

Church led his team with three goals and three assists in the game.

Even with a pair of goals scored by Derek Kreuzer and Resetarits for Albany, it wasn't enough to trump the Dragons.

The final goals for Drexel were scored by Farquhar (1) and Church (2), which ended the game 14-7.

"We just concentrated all week on being 1-1, and last week everybody was saying good job, good effort, but the bottom line is we were 0-1 coming into the game," Voelker said. "We knew these guys were tough, we knew they could swing it around on offense, and after a little bit of a shaky start we really played well for the last three quarters and it feels great to be 1-1."

Drexel outshot Albany 38-26 in the game and won 18 of 23 faceoffs.

Unfortunately, the Dragons were not as successful against Villanova … at least in terms of the score. Drexel fought a tough battle, but Villanova (2-1) came out on top by one point, closing the game at 14-13.

Drexel scored back-to-back goals in the first five minutes of play. The Wildcats responded with three goals in a row, taking the lead for the first time.

At the end of the first quarter, the game was tied at 3-3.

From the first quarter on, it seemed as though every pair of goals scored by Villanova were followed by a pair from the Dragons.
