Crime and Policy Violation Report April 16 – April 22

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between April 16, 2014, and April 22, 2014. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

ROBBERY (1)

April 22, 1:55 a.m. 1500 Block of Race Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that April 22 at 1:55 a.m., two unknown males took his wallet from his person by force. Philadelphia Police arrested one offender and recovered the victim’s wallet. No injuries were reported.

ASSAULT (2)

April 12, 3300 Block of Race Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that April 12, she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, a male Drexel student, during a verbal dispute. No injuries were reported.

April 19, 3 a.m. 3300 Block of Race Street

A Drexel student reported that April 19 at about 3 a.m., she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, also a Drexel student, during a verbal dispute. The victim sustained minor injuries.

THEFT (3)

April 9, 1 p.m. 3200 Block of Chestnut Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that April 9 at 1 p.m., unknown person(s) took his vehicle that he left unattended with the keys in the ignition.

April 13, 8:30 a.m. 1900 Block of Benjamin Franklin Parkway

A Drexel affiliate reported that April 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., unknown person(s) removed cash from a safe that was left unlocked.

April 17, 1 p.m. 3200 Block of Chestnut Street

A Drexel student reported that April 17, between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., unknown person(s) took her bicycle that was secured to a bicycle rack with a cable lock.

VANDALISM (1)

April 20, 1:24 a.m. 3100 Block of Market Street

Drexel Police arrested two non-Drexel affiliates April 20 at 1:24 a.m., after they were observed spray-painting graffiti on a building.

POLICY VIOLATION (10)

During the period covered in this report there were three (3) Policy Violations for Alcohol and seven (7) Policy Violations for Drugs. The reports were sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
