Crime and Policy Violation Report April 30-May 7

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between April 30, 2014, and May 7, 2014. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

ROBBERY (1)

April 30, 1:40 a.m.  3300 Block of Market Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that April 30 at 1:40 a.m., an unknown male entered his vehicle and robbed him of cash at gunpoint.

BURGLARY (4)

May 2, 1 p.m. 3400 Block of Baring Street

Drexel students reported that May 2, between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., unknown person(s) entered their apartment and took electronic equipment. There were no signs of forced entry.

May 3, 7:08 a.m. 3300 Block of Baring Street

Drexel Police arrested a Drexel student May 3 at 7:08 a.m., after he was observed on a first floor roof attempting to enter a residence of a non-Drexel affiliate.

May 4, 1:30 p.m. 3400 Block of Race Street

A Drexel student reported that May 4, between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his residence through an unlocked front door and took a TV and gaming system.

May 5, 9 a.m. 3400 Block of Race Street

A Drexel student reported that May 5, between 9 a.m. and 4:40 p.m., unknown person(s) entered her apartment and took her laptop computer. There were no signs of forced entry.

THEFT (8)

April 25, 9:00 a.m. 200 Block of North Broad Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that April 25, between 9 a.m. and 4:40 p.m., unknown person(s) took his bicycle that was secured to a bicycle post with a cable lock.

April 28, 1 p.m. 1500 Block of Race Street

A Drexel employee reported that April 28, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked office and took her iPhone that was left unattended on a desk.

April 29, 1 p.m. 3000 Block of Market Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that April 29, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., unknown person(s) took her purse that was left unattended on a desk in a classroom.

May 3, 11 a.m. 200 Block of North 34th Street

A Drexel student reported that May 3, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., unknown person(s) took his bicycle that was secured to a bicycle rack with a cable lock.

May 5, 7:45 a.m. 3200 Block of Market Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that May 5, between 7:45 a.m. and 7:55 a.m., unknown person(s) took his school bag that was left unattended in a common area.

May 3, 9:45 p.m. 3300 Block of Market Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that May 3, between 9:45 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., unknown person(s) took her iPhone from her bag that was left unattended on her chair.

May 4, 4 a.m. 100 Block of North 34th Street

A Drexel student reported that May 4, between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., unknown person(s) took his laptop computer and other electronic equipment that was left unattended in a common area.

May 5, 11:30 a.m. 3200 Block of Market Street

A Drexel employee reported that May 5, between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., unknown person(s) took her wallet that was left in view in an unsecured office.

VANDALISM (2)

April 28, 3100 Block of Market Street

A Drexel employee reported that between April 28 and April 30, the plastic panel to the soda machine was broken in an unknown manner.

April 30, 12 p.m. 2900 Block of Queen Lane

A Drexel employee reported that April 30, between 12 p.m. and 6:50 p.m., the passenger window to his vehicle was broken in an unknown manner.

DRUGS (1)

May 5, 1:43 p.m. 100 Block of North 32nd Street

Drexel Police arrested a Drexel student May 5 at 1:43 p.m., after the student was involved in a minor accident and was found to be in possession of marijuana.

POLICY VIOLATION (3)

During the period covered in this report, there were two (2) Policy Violations for Alcohol and one (1) Policy Violation for Drugs. The reports were sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
