Crime & Policy Violation Report Feb. 19-Feb. 25

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between Feb. 19, 2014, and Feb. 25, 2014. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

Burglary  (5)

Feb. 19 Unit Block of South 32nd Street

A Drexel staff member reported that between Feb. 19 and Feb. 20, unknown person(s) entered his classroom by forcing the lock and took an exam from a folder.

Feb. 21, 1 p.m. 3400 Block of Powelton Avenue

A Drexel student reported that on Feb. 21, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his residence through an unlocked rear door and took his laptop computer.

Feb. 23, 4:30 a.m. 200 Block of North 34th Street

Drexel Police reported that on Feb. 23 at 4:30 a.m., an unknown male entered a business by breaking a window in the front door and took two register drawers.

Feb. 25, 9:50 a.m. 3200 Block of Chestnut Street

A Drexel staff member reported that on Feb. 25, between 9:50 a.m. and 10:19 a.m., an unknown male took textbooks from an unlocked cabinet.

Feb. 25, 9:38 p.m. 3200 Block of Powelton Avenue

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that on Feb. 25 at 9:38 p.m., an unknown male entered his business by forcing the door lock. The male fled without taking anything.

Feb. 20, 6:45 a.m. 3500 Block of Pearl Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported to Philadelphia Police on Feb. 20 at 6:45 a.m. that two males approached him, produced a handgun and took cash from his person.

Theft (7)

Feb. 9 200 block of North 34th Street

A Drexel student reported that between Feb. 9 and Feb. 18, unknown person(s) took his bicycle that was secured with a U lock to a bike rack.

Feb. 16, 1 a.m. 3000 Block of Market Street

A non-Drexel complainant reported that on Feb. 16 at about 1 a.m., he dropped his wallet to the ground and an unknown male picked it up and fled with it.

Feb. 18 3200 Block of Chestnut Street

A Drexel student reported that between Feb. 18 and Feb. 25, unknown person(s) entered his room with no sign of force and took cash from his suitcase.

Feb. 20, 2 p.m. 3200 Block of Market Street

A Drexel student reported that on Feb. 20, between 2 p.m. and 3:05 p.m., unknown person(s) took his bicycle that was secured to a bike rack with a cable lock.

Feb. 22, 3:09 p.m. 200 North 34th Street

Drexel police arrested a male on Feb. 22 at 3:09 p.m. after he was observed exiting the rear of a business with a box of merchandise he took from the business.

Feb. 22 3300 Block of Arch Street

A Drexel student reported that between Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, unknown person(s) took his motorcycle from a parking lot.

Feb. 23 200 Block of North 34th Street

A Drexel student reported that between Feb. 23 and Feb. 25, unknown person(s) entered his room with no sign of force and took his watch that was left in view.

Vandalism (1)

Feb. 16 3200 Block of Chestnut Street

A Drexel student reported that between Feb. 16 and Feb. 18, the door to his room was damaged by a male known to him.

During the period covered in this report, there were four (4) Policy Violations for Alcohol and two (2) Policy Violations for Drugs. The reports were sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
