Crime & Policy Violation Report

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between April 12, 2011 and April 22, 2011. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

 

Assault 2

April 18, 4:50 p.m. 100 Block of North 33rd Street

On April 18 at 4:50 p.m., a male Drexel student reported that he was inappropriately touched on his buttocks by an unknown male.

April 22 3300 Block of Market Street

On April 22 a Drexel student reported that he was punched and kicked by two other Drexel students. Minor Injuries were reported. Investigation is ongoing.

Burglary 2

April 14, 6 p.m. 3400 Block of Chestnut Street

Between April 14 at 6 p.m. and April 15 at 6 a.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) entered an unlocked property and took a cell phone and fire extinguisher.

April 18, 2 p.m. 400 Block of North 42nd Street

On April 18, between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., a Drexel staff member reported that unknown person(s) forced open a storage shed and took athletic equipment.

Theft 4

April 12 200 Block of North Broad Street

On April 12 a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) removed her automobile without permission.

April 17 3000 Block of Market St.

On April 17 a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) stole his bike that was secured with a chain lock.

April 19, 9 p.m. Unit Block of South 32nd Street Between April 19 at 9 p.m. and April 20 at 4:30 p.m., a Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) took a laptop computer that was left in an unlocked room.

April 20 100 Block of North Shedwick Street

On April 20, a Drexel student reported that personal checks were removed from his checkbook, which was left unsecured, and cashed by a person known to him.

Vandalism 2

April 17, midnight 3400 Block of Powelton Avenue

On April 17, between midnight and 12:45 a.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) threw paint on the rear door and wall of his residence.

April 19, 8 a.m. Unit Block of North 33rd Street

On April 19, between 8 a.m. and 11:35 a.m., a Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) wrote graffiti on a glass partition in a common area.

Alcohol and Drug Policy Violations 8

During the period covered by this report, there were eight (8) reported policy violations for alcohol and three (3) reported policy violations for drugs, two of which resulted in arrests. The reports were sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
