Wrestling splits in weekend at home, jumps to 4-7 overall
The Drexel University wrestling team lost its first home dual at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on the night of Jan. 22 against Binghamton University, but came away with its first home victory Jan. 24 against the United States Military Academy.

Wrestling splits versus Navy, American
The Drexel University wrestling team picked up both a win and a loss this past week when they travelled south of Philadelphia to take on two opponents from the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association. The Dragons lost 25-14 last Friday night to the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, but they were able to follow up the defeat with a thrilling 21-16 come-from-behind victory last Sunday over American University.

Cimato sole successful Dragon at Scuffle, takes fourth place
The Drexel University wrestling team traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee Jan. 1 to participate in the Southern Scuffle. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga played host to the tournament on both Friday, Jan. 1 and Saturday, Jan. 2. The Southern Scuffle was a two-day bracket tournament where wrestlers representing 31 different universities competed against various opponents in their respective weight-classes. Teams earned points for each bracket win their individual players were able to attain. The Dragons amassed a total of 32 points. Their team score resulted in a 19th place finish amongst the 31 teams who participated in the tournament.

Wrestling splits results at Mountaineer Duals to open season
The Drexel University wrestling team competed in three duals on Nov. 8 at the Mountaineer Duals hosted by West Virginia University. The Dragons finished the day with one dual win and two dual losses.

Under the low lights of Drexel University’s wrestling room, alumnus Zach Makovsky rat-a-tatted left hooks and thunderous right-footed kicks. The No. 9 flyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship let each meeting of flesh and leather linger, flexing his prowess.

Devoy and four others place at EIWA champs
After a long season and a lot of hard work the Drexel University wrestling team competed in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association championship matches. These matches are the most important matches for the year for the Dragons. It marks the end of the season for many and opens the door to the NCAA championship for a few.

Wrestling finishes regular season with loss to Penn
The Drexel University wrestling team ran into some tough opponents this past weekend. They dropped the final three matches of the season, but each meet was against an incredibly tough opponent. The Dragons faced No. 23 Rutgers University, No. 10 University of Nebraska, and neighboring rival the University of Pennsylvania. Even though the season was coming to an end this was the toughest stretch the Dragons faced all year. It was definitely an important stretch, however, as it allowed the team to begin to get into championship form.
