Massenat success key for Drexel
Drexel point guard Frantz Massenat goes up for a running jump shot in an 84-86 overtime loss last season to Illinois State University on Nov. 15. Massenat and the Dragons look to recover from a disappointing last season.Last season, Drexel’s Frantz Massenat was named the men’s basketball Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Player of the Year. Coming into his own as the best player on a team “destined” for the postseason, big things and increased production were expected from the point guard.

A freshman’s guide to men’s bball
Shooting guard Chris Fouch will play for the Dragons this season in his sixth year of eligibility. The NCAA granted Fouch a second redshirt year following an ankle injury he suffered during Drexel’s third game of the 2012-13 season.Eighteen months and 10 days ago, the Drexel men’s basketball team had a chance to play in the NCAA Tournament. It was an extremely realistic chance if you ask any of the college basketball analysts who wrote articles the next day about the Dragons being snubbed from going dancing.

Men’s basketball atop the CAA; win 10 consecutive
From Feb. 13, 1988 until Feb. 4, 1989, the University of Richmond Spiders, then members of the Colonial Athletic Association, won 17 consecutive regular-season conference matchups. That is the CAA’s longest standing winning streak, although the Spiders are now members of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
