‘Down in Heaven’ with Chicago’s Twin Peaks at UT
I saw a lot of great shows in 2016, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one to punctuate the year’s end. Chicago indie darlings Twin Peaks made a stop at Union Transfer Dec. 8, marking the last show on my concert calendar.

Indie band ‘Twin Peaks’ amazes at Boot and Saddle
It was an all-Chicago affair at South Broad’s Boot and Saddle May 20. Jimmy Whispers and Ne-Hi opened the show for Twin Peaks, who are touring fresh off the release of their new album “Down in Heaven.” In front of a lively sold-out crowd, Twin Peaks put on an insanely good set that was over far too soon.

Twin Peaks drop delightful third album, ‘Down in Heaven’
I have never understood the appeal of “Twin Peaks.” It had a weird aesthetic and seemed like another token hip and cool television show whose virtues would be espoused by film majors until the day they die. Thankfully, I’ve recently discovered Twin Peaks the band and now I’ll be damned if I ever think about that stupid David Lynch show or its upcoming reboot ever again.
