The tournament began with an arduous match against Temple, which ended with a tough loss. The Dragons carried on to their next match against Rowan, whereDrexel showcased strong offensive efforts, with Mireiea Sainz Blasi and Kaitlyn Armstrong adding points throughout the game. They kept their defense tight, prohibiting Rowan to catch up in score, and earning the Dragons the win.

The team worked together cohesively, keeping communication constant and maintaining strong offensive attacks up the field. This win led Drexel into the semi-final round and their third game, where they went up  against Penn. The two teams traded tries, scoring goals for each half but, unfortunately, the game ended in a 26-27 Penn victory.

Drexel’s final game against Bloomsburg would determine their tournament ranking of either third or fourth place. After a quick score fresh out of the gate, Drexel quickly established their dominance on the field. Bloomsburg met Drexel’s energy and were able to even the score. The teams went back and forth, until the very end where Drexel was able to secure the win and land their spot in third place.

Overall, the team showcased their talent, with incredibly strong offensive moves from Kaitlyn Armstrong, who scored multiple goals throughout the four-game tournament, leading to their third-place ranking. Carli Conover, a veteran player, showed consistently strong offensive and defensive strategies throughout the afternoon.
