Hyperloop team fundraises more than $70,000
A team of roughly 80 Drexel University engineering, computer science, finance and marketing students banded together to form the Drexel Hyperloop Team that worked for over a year and a half to design and build a pod displayed at a SpaceX competition in California this past January.

A year in the life at Drexel University: Everything you missed in 2015-2016
Drexel University is an extremely fast-paced college, and that’s not limited to the quarter system. Over the last year alone, Drexel’s campus and administrative policies have grown and changed drastically. Just to give the incoming freshmen class an idea of what’s new, The Triangle has compiled a list of some of the things you missed last year while you were rotting away in the confines of high school.

Something different for us to cheer for
In June of 2015, Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, made an open call for design submissions for the hyperloop: the company’s proposed high-speed ground transport system. Finalists would submit their prototypes of a transportation pod for final review in just a year. Naturally, Drexel students have accepted the challenge, and they’ve done pretty well.

Drexel Hyperloop expo follows Design Weekend
The Edmund D. Bossone Research Enterprise Center was abuzz as students from Drexel American Society of Mechanical Engineers presented the work that they had been doing for the international Space-X Hyperloop Competition at the Drexel Hyperloop Expo Feb. 11. Many Drexel alumni, local professionals and politicians showed up to see the Expo team present and learn more about the works of the University’s team.

Drexel Hyperloop advances at SpaceX Design Weekend
The Drexel Hyperloop team proved successful Jan. 29–30 at SpaceX’s Design Weekend hosted by Texas A&M University. The contest offered student teams the opportunity to showcase their designs to a panel of judges, along with a host of potential sponsors.
